Examples of some of the organisations we have worked with recently:

  • BT
  • JBA
  • The Environment Partnership
  • Cubby Construction
  • Maysons Construction
  • McLaughlin and Harvey
  • Greaves Tree Services
  • Orchard Tree Surgery
  • Eden Rivers Trust
  • Grosvenor Estates
  • Caledonian Conservation….and many more!

Common Rescue 3 courses for our industrial clients:

Water Awareness and safety (3 hours)

A classroom-based course exploring the hazards and risk associated with inland and coastal water. It looks at basic control measures and safe working practices that can be introduced, including types of PPE and their use. Designed for industry, civil engineering, and other workers operating near water.

Fantastic, knowledgeable gentleman. Very reassuring and keen to pass skills and experience with us. Method of instruction was fantastic. With theory and practical balanced out. Area/location knowledge very appropriate and well managed for the groups needs.

Life Jacket Competent User (1 day)

For personnel who operate adjacent to the water at rescue incidents and those who will operate near water as part of their key job function, eg construction workers, EA water hydrometry staff etc. As such, it is not intended that they will enter the water, and a manual or auto inflation lifejacket is worn as PPE for protection.

PPE and resources provided on the course was either very good quality new or in perfect used condition. A refreshing change to other courses I have taken previously. The instructor is obviously passionate about the topic, as well as very experienced. This went a long way to reassuring me and even boosted my own enthusiasm for the subject.

Basic water rescuer  – Foundation (1 day)

The Basic Water Rescuer – This foundation course is designed for personnel who may be deployed to a basic (still) water environment, such as lakes, ponds and canals, where they may be required to undertake simple rescues using basic equipment. For using more equipment-intensive elements, including rescue platforms, sleds and boards, students should undertake the basic water rescuer course outlined below

Basic water rescuer  (2 days)

The Basic Water Rescuer course is designed for personnel who may be deployed to a basic (still) water environment, such as lakes, ponds and canals, where they may be required to undertake rescues.

Safe working in water (2 days)

This course provides the knowledge and techniques for employees who need to work in or near water. It covers appropriate PPE and simple rescue techniques to allow safe rescue from water, both basic and moving, and gives simple rescue techniques that can be used to rescue co-workers.

Swiftwater and flood first responder

Primarily intended for those working in and around floods, the first responder course is also very popular with our industrial clients as it so widely known and accepted by key stakeholders.

As well as being prepared to work around the water and undertake bank based and shallow water wading rescues, one of the main roles of a First Responder is to support the teams of Swiftwater Rescue Technicians at an incident. To enable this, a responder will have the ability to self rescue, skills in shallow water working, basic boat handling and basic rope work all covered on the programme.
